BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Financial Analysis & Controls (Contractor) for Hybrid Work opportunity in Redmond, WA

Position Title: Financial Analysis & Controls

Location: Hybrid In Redmond, WA (2-3 days on-site required) --- Need Local or in a commutable distance from Redmond.

Anticipated Start Date: - ASAP

Expected Duration: 2+ Months Contract (Highly likely that this contractor need will be extended through to the end of Dec 2024)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00-$70.00 on w2 only

Summary

• The main functions of a Financial Analysis & Controls are to gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. A typical Financial Analysis & Controls is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.
• Month and Quarter end financial close (Journal Entries, Reporting, Trend Analysis).
• Financial System Reporting and New Capability Design and Testing.
• Execute and Manage Financial (SOX) controls.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

• Revenue recognition (very specific accounting ASC 606) - At least 4 +YOE
• Familiar with software sales (software revenue experience) - At least 4+ YOE
• Generally accepted accounting principles - At least 6+ YOE

Purpose of the Team:

• The purpose of this team is to close financial records for monthly, quarterly and yearly perspective. They are the ones that makes sure revenue and receivables are recorded before other parts of corporate accounting create SCC filing for quarterly and annually. Support questions from other finance teams - how revenue grows/declines and why.

  Key projects:

• This role will contribute to handling a lot of commercial deals and processes. Large commercial deals - such as azure, Microsoft 365. They might need to adjust books by journal entries.

  Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:

• The role will consist of a minimum of 50% meetings (chasing after certain tasks, if things do not look right in financials - talk to system financial persons and checking for answers to solve problems), 50% heads down (assessment process to assess recalculations, journal entries, etc.).

Skills:

* Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.

* Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.

* Basic ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues .

* Knowledge of economic and general accepted accounting principles, and reporting of financial data.

* Knowledge of Revenue Recognition (ASC 606).

* Knowledge of Microsoft financial systems.

* Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software.

* Current CPA licensed preferred.
