BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated : Pilot plant technician / Blending technician in Wyandotte, MI 48192.

Title: Pilot plant technician / Blending technician
Expected contract duration: 12 months
Location: Wyandotte, MI 48192 United States
Pay rate: $20/hr. on W2.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working in a team environment under minimal daily direct supervision, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

* Prepare experimental refining catalysts on a 5 to 20 Kg scale using established procedures including crystallization, ion exchange, calcination in the Pilot Plant
* Conduct experiments, generate reliable data, and interpret results for FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) catalyst research projects
* oordinate and work effectively with support/service groups to deliver results in a timely manner
* Organize and store data in electronic databases
* Work closely with supervisor, providing frequent updates and planning next set of experiments
* Process data in the form of tables, graphs, PowerPoint presentations and share with the supervisor and the team, as needed
* Responsible for performing the entire range of refining catalyst preparation and evaluation methods
* Ability to work effectively in a larger than lab scale environment potentially generating 5-120 Kg samples
* Identify hazards and work safely following EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) guidelines

REQUIREMENTS

* A minimum of an Associate's degree in Chemistry. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry /Material Science / Chemical Engineering or related discipline is a plus
* Knowledge of and focus on EH&S protocols and cleanliness in the laboratory is desired
* Must have excellent laboratory or pilot plant scale skills, including detailed record keeping and knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and equipment
* Must be able to lift and handle up to 40 lbs.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency in MS Office software and Lotus Notes required
* Demonstrated history of improvements made in laboratory work processes a plus
* Experience in zeolite catalysis is a plus
