- Client Reality Labs Research is looking for a Technical Game Developer to help invent the future of digital presence in the Clientverse. In our Sausalito location, you will partner with our Creative Director, technical artists, research scientists, and engineers to create immersive demos that show how our state-of-the-art technologies can enable the future of AR/VR avatars.
- Our research team develops the technologies that will enable Client's product groups to ship the avatars the world will see in 5 to 10+ years. You'll work in small, nimble teams to rapidly iterate on digital character-focused demos and prototypes. You'll be working as the "integrator" inside real-time engines like Unreal, by bringing together the vision of the Creative/Art Director, 3D character assets created by technical artists, and innovative technologies designed by engineers.
- These demos are shared with the leadership and community of Client Reality Labs to inspire and define a north-star for our future Clientverse.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 8+ years of Game development and/or AR/VR prototype experiences. You are an expert in game mechanics and UI systems, demonstrating high-end skillsets with level blueprint and realtime graphic optimization.
- Experience with technical aspects of game design such as coding C# or C++, 3D Math fundamentals as applied to game logic.
- First-hand experience with industry Game production processes and cross-discipline collaboration and communication.
- Comfortable taking direction, yet also working independently, multi-tasking, and self-prioritizing to help various teams meet goals in this quick-moving, highly collaborative environment.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Unity is required.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or Computer Animation, including coding and scripting in various languages.
- Previous experience in the creation of Games or interactive VR & AR experiences.
- Experience with real-time analytics tools/languages/process and visual scripting is a plus.
- Knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya is a plus.
Must-Have Skills:
- Some 3D Math fundamentals as applied to game logic and game mechanics.
a. UX Optimization Performance, Developing 3D core gameplay systems, Gameplay controllers, cross - C++ and Unreal engine
- Cross-functional and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- C# (some required but less of a priority than C++)
- Knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya is a plus (CWAM acknowledges that this is a niche skill set but it would be great)
- UI Experience (Figma)
