Hardware Engineer IIIBC forward is currently seeking an initiative to take Hardware Engineer III for a (Remote) Location. Position Title: Hardware Engineer III Location: Remote Anticipated Start Date: 3/24/2025Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. BC forward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 12+ Months ContractJob Type: ContractPay Range: $65/hr. to Max $75/HR W2 Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Summary: Role Mandate:The individual will be joining the Compression Silicon Team to support with compression IPs performance evaluation and verification. Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- 1. Analyze the performance of compression IPs using various metrics (e.g. PSNR, error map, visually lossless, etc.).
- 2. Develop scripts to automate the testing and verification process
- 3. Standardizing algorithm testing, proposal for different images, and documentation, solely with C++ and Python
- 4. Building scripts to run different models, debug scripts quickly, and work with the vendor to get hardware IDs
- 5. Understand the functional C-models for compression standards
- 6. Analyze and modify C-models to optimize performance

- 8. Ensuring all requirements are met in Verilog - systemVerilog or C++
Must-Have Skills:
- * * Familiarity with Python, C++ and able to write scripts to analyze and compare the performance of different compression standards
- * * C-Model understanding
- * * HW programming experience
- * * Familiarity with Video/Image Processing (Preferred: Familiarity with Video/Image compression)
- * * Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles, involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
- * * Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of telecommunications systems
- * * Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- * * Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
- * * Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field
