Job Description

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hardware electrical design validation, L2/L3 networking protocol testing, and optical/RJ45 interface qualification and a proven ability to plan, execute, and drive EDVT and HALT activities to release defect-free designs to production.

Responsibilities:

• Participate on project teams involved in specification, design, development, and test of hardware.
• Assist engineers in design, development, and evaluation of new products; perform bench-level repair and bring-up on engineering prototypes.
• Define design test parameters and procedures to release zero design defects to production.
• Develop and implement system and board-level test plans with hardware, diagnostics, software, and program teams.
• Set up complex test scenarios to maximize functional stress on hardware modules through traffic and diagnostic testing.
• Identify test equipment and test setup architectures required to validate new hardware products.
• Execute EDVT test plans, document results, debug issues, and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Perform HALT at local outside labs and analyze results.
• Interface with cross-functional product teams, third-party vendors for test equipment evaluation and training, and ODM partners to review and approve test strategies, plans, processes, and reports.
• Present status and mitigation plans to the project team as needed.
• Evaluate and enhance testing processes and best-practice documentation to improve efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and customer satisfaction.
• Assess technical readiness prior to release to manufacturing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• MSEE/CS with 3-5 years related experience, or BSEE/CS with 5-7+ years related experience.
• Hands-on experience testing L2/L3 networking protocols for network product qualification.
• Minimum 3 years working with IEEE 802.3 standards for qualifying optical transceivers and RJ45 MagJack interfaces.
• Familiarity with 10/100/1000, 2.5G, 5G, 10G Base-T, and 1G/10G/40G/50G/100G/400G optical transceiver qualification.
• Experience in networking electrical design validation, test planning, and debugging for network products.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with EDVT methodologies, HALT planning, and external lab coordination.
• Background collaborating with ODM partners and test equipment vendors.
