BCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Mechanical Technician IV for an ONSITE opportunity.

Position Title: Mechanical Technician IV

Location: Sunnyvale, CA 94089 (Onsite)

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 12 Months

Job Type: Contract - [FULL TIME (40 Hours a week)]

Pay Range: $50.73/hr-$55.48/hr

Summary

The Mechanical Technician IV will serve as a CNC Machinist/Programmer, responsible for CAM programming, operation of CNC/manual machining equipment, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of machined parts in a prototyping environment.

Key Responsibilities

• CAM programming and operation of all CNC and manual machining equipment
• CNC machining of metal and plastic parts
• Fixturing and work holding design in CAD
• Responsible for part quality and inspection
• Collaborating with design engineers on part functionality and manufacturability
• Prepare stock for machining: select, measure, cut, and load materials
• Handle shipping of finished goods, including package tracking via shop management software
• Inspect and/or assemble finished jobs prior to shipment as needed
• Maintain shop cleanliness and encourage high standards among peers
• Perform finishing tasks: deburring, de-gluing, bead blasting, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a prototyping environment using advanced CNC machine tools
• Mechanically inclined; enjoys building and fixing things
• Experience running 3-axis milling equipment
• Proficient in CAM software and CNC programming (Fusion 360, Hypermill, NX a plus)
• Proficient in CAD software and fixture design (Fusion 360, Solidworks, NX a plus)
• Self-driven, autonomous, and willing to participate in a broad range of shop tasks
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software
• Creative problem solver with a focus on efficiency and professionalism
• Clear communicator regarding timelines and expectations
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Siemens NX
• Previous experience at a leading technology company
