Job Description
We are seeking a QA Analyst II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing and executing software test plans, test scripts, and defect management and a proven ability to identify, document, and drive resolution of software defects to support high-quality releases.
Responsibilities:
- Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
- Test system modifications and validate readiness for implementation.
- Develop testing programs addressing database impacts, software scenarios, and usability.
- Document software defects using a bug tracking system and report to developers.
- Identify, analyze, and document issues with program function, output, UI, or content.
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track outcomes to closure.
- Create and maintain databases of known test defects and regression risks.
- Plan test schedules and strategies aligned to scope and delivery dates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in test case design, execution, and defect lifecycle management.
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities.
- Basic knowledge of hardware and software concepts including circuit boards, processors, and operating systems.
- Familiarity with design techniques and tools for technical documentation and models.
- Understanding of the practical application of engineering and technology in software quality.
- Basic knowledge of development and scripting software such as Microsoft Visual Basic, Linux, or JavaScript.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Agile or Scrum testing practices and tools.
- Exposure to testing database impacts, APIs, and usability studies.
Work Arrangement and Flexibility
This role follows a hybrid schedule with three days onsite in Menlo Park, CA. Candidates should be prepared for possible overtime or extended hours based on project needs. Flexibility is considered a key requirement for success in this team.
