Design Engineer IIIBCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer III for an Seattle, WA opportunity! Position Title: Design Engineer IIILocation: Seattle, WA (Onsite)Anticipated Start Date: 11/15/2024Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 12 MonthsJob Type: Contract (>%3D30 HRS WEEKLY)Pay Range: TBDPlease note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Duties:
Must Haves:
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices
- Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of novel sensor integrations in wearable electronics
- Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.
Must Haves:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or in a similar field
- Knowledge of the design process for high-volume consumer products from concept to manufacturing
- Average or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX preferred]
- Physical prototyping experience
- Experience with FPC/PCB design
- Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding and 3D printing
- Knowledge of Camera integration, Sensor Integration, Elastomer design, Haptic devices, or Textile Manufacturing.
- Experience developing wearable consumer electronics
- Hands-on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding.
- Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
