BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated SAP ABAP Developer for a hybrid opportunity in Saskatchewan, Canada!

Position Title: SAP ABAP Developer

Location: Saskatchewan, Canada

Anticipated Start Date: 03/03

Expected Duration: 6+ months contract + Renewable

Job Type: [FULL TIME (>%3D40 HRS WEEKLY) [CONTRACT], [HYBRID]

Pay Range: $45 - $55/hr

Job Summary:
The SAP ABAP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting ABAP-based programs and customizations within the SAP environment. The role requires expertise in SAP modules, understanding of business processes, and the ability to implement efficient, scalable, and effective ABAP solutions. The mid-level ABAP developer will work on various projects, including enhancements, bug fixes, and optimizations, ensuring the system meets business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance ABAP programs, reports, function modules, and interfaces.
  • Work on SAP enhancements, including User Exits, BADI (Business Add-Ins), BAPIs, and IDOCs.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Debug and troubleshoot SAP systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Optimize existing ABAP programs for performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain data migration programs (LSMW, BDC).
  • Participate in SAP system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
  • Ensure code quality and adherence to ABAP coding standards.
  • Write technical documentation for custom developments.
  • Perform unit testing and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for new developments.
  • Provide support for ongoing production issues and provide solutions for system errors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with SAP ABAP programming (minimum of 3-5 years).
  • Experience in various SAP modules like SAP MM, SD, FICO, or HR.
  • Knowledge of SAP objects like Reports, BAPIs, BADIs, Function Modules, Smart Forms, and SAPscript.
  • Understanding of SAP Netweaver platform and integration technologies.
  • Experience in data migration and interface development.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in performance tuning for ABAP programs.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and ABAP for HANA.
  • Familiarity with Fiori/UI5 or other UI technologies.
  • ABAP certification or relevant SAP training
