Public Policy Manager

Job Title: Public Policy Manager

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Washington, D.C.

We're looking for a Public Policy Manager to coordinate and build policy programs that demonstrate the value platforms and products to policymakers and other audiences in the US. In this role you will work across a range of content, policy, and product areas, and will help advance the goals of the company by developing and supporting a variety of initiatives that educate and inform our stakeholders.

Must Have's:

1. Policy Expertise: Deep understanding of the policy landscape, especially as it relates to technology, government, or nonprofit sectors.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with internal teams (Policy, Product, Legal, Communications, Partnerships) and external partners.

3. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong experience building and managing relationships with policymakers, industry partners, and other key external stakeholders.


Nice to have:
1. Knowledge of Policy-Making Processes: Familiarity with federal and/or state policy-making procedures.

2. Public Speaking & Representation: Comfort representing the company at events, conferences, and in meetings with third-party groups.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, create, and execute on various policy experiences, events, and outreach programs to educate and inform policy stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally within Policy, Product, Legal, Communications, Partnerships, and other teams to help advance our company's policy goals
  • Build and manage partnerships and relationships with external stakeholders, and represent Meta to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, coalition meetings, and in various working groups
  • Support the team's engagement with policymakers, trade associations, industry partners, key opinion makers, non-profit groups and others
  • Help set up and prepare Meta executives for meetings and public appearances involving third-party groups and stakeholders
  • Develop and lead internal processes that support and streamline our team's work, and improve cross-functional communication and collaboration, and
  • Travel when required.


    Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of government / tech / policy / nonprofit experience
  • Bachelor's degree


    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Policy stakeholder engagement experience
  • Policy Programs and events-management experience
  • Knowledge of the policy-making process at the federal and/or state levels
