Job Description
We are seeking a Plant Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in waste handling, decontamination processes, and barcode-based recordkeeping and a proven ability to operate plant equipment safely and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Responsibilities:
- Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
- Stage waste on the conveyor system or stack properly for scanning in the Biotrack system.
- Scan waste into the Biotrack system for accurate recordkeeping.
- Load autoclave bins or the incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
- Place reusable containers on the tub wash line for decontamination.
- Operate the tub wash unit, verify proper operation, remove clean tubs, inspect, and stack for loading onto assigned vehicles for reuse.
- Operate the tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs, verify proper operation, inspect, and stack for loading onto assigned vehicles for reuse.
- Decontaminate the cargo area of vehicles, reload assigned reusable tubs, ensure no free liquid remains, and notify the plant supervisor when the vehicle is ready to be moved.
- Address housekeeping needs promptly, including spill cleanup, drying floors, and removing debris.
- Assist in other plant operations as directed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- One year of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination that demonstrates effective communication and tact.
- Ability to perform extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds and push or pull carts up to 500 pounds.
- Proficiency with barcode scanning and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA regulations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Biotrack or similar waste tracking systems.
- Experience operating autoclaves, incinerators, or industrial wash systems.
