Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, distributed systems, and microservices, and a proven ability to design scalable components and improve platform reliability and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build horizontally scalable components for the core platform.
• Review code and provide feedback on best practices with focus on performance and stability.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for services deployed on the platform and support other developers.
• Write reusable, extendable code and contribute to core platform components.
• Simplify software designs and reduce complexity over time.
• Continuously improve personal and team practices through collaboration and mentorship.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Expertise in functional and object-oriented programming in Python.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with databases, including relational and NoSQL systems.
• Proven experience building distributed, scalable services and microservices.
• Proficiency in unit testing using pytest or unittest.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive with self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Linux in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, and orchestration.
