BC forward is currently seeking a highly motivated Claims Assistant for an opportunity in Concord, CA 94520 )
Position Title: Claims Assistant
Location: Concord, CA 94520 (Hybrid)
Anticipated Start Date: 3/24/2025
Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. BC forward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.
Expected Duration: 37 days contract with possible extension
Job Type: [Onsite]
Pay Range: $20.00/hr.
Primary Purpose:
To support the claims staff and carry out various office tasks based on client program needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Set up and input new claims into the claims management system.
Enter and review notes/diaries in the claims management system as directed.
Process payments and handle incoming mail, including filing, faxing, and photocopying.
Review, prepare, create, and send letters, reports, and forms.
Answer and make phone calls, set up medical appointments, and provide customer service as needed.
Participate in other activities/projects as assigned, including preparing and distributing computer reports.
Additional Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Support the organization's quality program.
Qualifications:
Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Six months of clerical or customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Skills & Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office; strong organizational abilities; capable of working in a team setting; ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
Work Environment:
Consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations when applicable.
Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking; excellent judgment and discretion; ability to manage work-related stress and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Physical: Computer keyboarding; occasional travel may be required.
Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision, and verbal communication.
