Design Engineer VBCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer V for an onsite opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA! Position Title: Design Engineer VLocation: Sunnyvale, CAAnticipated Start Date: 10/28/2024Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 12+ MonthsJob Type: Contract (>%3D30 HRS WEEKLY)Pay Range: $66.14-$109.13/hr.Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Summary:As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a physically based photo realistic graphic rendering pipeline. The perfect candidate should have extensive experience in rendering technology, with expertise in building and enhancing rendering pipelines and integrating advanced rendering techniques. In this role, you will lead the creation of innovative rendering tools and technologies. Beyond rendering, you will be exposed to other technologies including image signal processing, optics, camera development, and perceptual image quality analysis. It's a great opportunity to learn and apply your skills in math, physics, and software. Responsibilities:
- Develop a physically based photo realistic graphic rendering pipeline.
- Develop, customize, integrate and optimize core rendering features and engine components.
- Profile different rendering techniques and parameters on how they affect various image quality metrics such as noise, sharpness, and contrast.
- Research and implement rendering techniques to improve accuracy and noise.
- Design, implement, maintain, and debug rendering code.
- Involve in asset and scene design and rendering.
- Collaborate with image processing engineers and color scientists on various image quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience in developing graphics rendering techniques.
- Experience in renderers like Blender and Unreal Engine.
- Detailed knowledge of graphics hardware.
- Experience in ray tracing, shaders, animation, lighting, and tool development.
- Programming experience with C, C++ and Python.
- Software engineering experience including object-oriented design and implementation.
- Strong Technical communication skills breaking down complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences or engineers outside of rendering.
- Experience on various objective image quality metrics for measuring noise, sharpness, contrast and dynamic range.
- Performance optimization with parallel processing and memory management.
- Experience in cloud computing.
- Understanding on optics
- Understanding of Physically Based Rendering.
