BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Lab Technician for onsite opportunity

Position Title: Lab Technician

Location: Minneapolis, MN (ONSITE)

Anticipated Start Date: 5/19/2025

Expected Duration: 12+ months

Job Type: FULL TIME (>%3D40 HRS WEEKLY) - CONTRACT - ONSITE

Pay Range: $20/hr to $23/hr

Key Responsibilities

• The Labs analyst has accountability to support all laboratory testing needs on a weekly basis.
• This position requires the ability to take directions, and at times work autonomously, to support the needs within the client Operations Organization.
• The position requires significant attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to perform or learn a minimum of the following laboratory skills including prepping samples, accurate weighing, pipetting, and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples; ability to work with care around hazardous compounds, preparation of solutions; calculation of results; evaluation of the quality of results; operation of common lab equipment; basic troubleshooting and maintenance of lab equipment.
• This position will involve laboratory testing of food products for one or more attributes.
• This position involves potential exposure and contact with common food and chemical allergens.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Facilitate analytical testing or sample preparation for clients in conjunction with other team members
• Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples or preparation for Client Labs
• Document results and review data generated by LIMS or instrumentation to maximize output and meet deadlines
• Meet department Quality expectations including:
• Complying with client and ISO 17025 quality requirements
• Identifying and addressing quality control issues
• Completing quality investigations in a thorough and timely manner
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and other maintenance required by the Reliability Program
• Develop a strong knowledge of the portion of the analytical methods being trained on
• Maintain a work environment that complies with GMI and client safety rules
• Actively participate in customer and accreditation audits as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory and team operations
• Other responsibilities as required by specific lab

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma w/3-5 years of directly relatable experience
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; PC skills: proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Works well with individuals and teams; displays a positive attitude
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability; Flexibility and adaptability
• Available to flex work schedule when business need dictates
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation.
• High individual energy with very strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage in Productive Discourse

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or related science field preferred

• Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation
