Job Description

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting a federal aerospace and defense client. The role will configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points. You will run network projects from design through implementation, configuration, testing, and turn-up. Raytheon security clearance is required.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and validate LAN architectures and configurations.
• Create configuration scripts for Cisco routers, switches, and wireless components.
• Troubleshoot complex layer 2 and layer 3 issues including VSS, HSRP, MACsec, and tunneling.
• Plan and execute IOS upgrades and manage Cisco software licensing.
• Deploy and manage wireless LAN controllers and access points.
• Document designs, changes, and runbooks using Visio and MS Office.
• Lead projects and coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and customer stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years creating network configuration scripts, not only implementing others' scripts.
• 5+ years LAN network engineering, design, and architecture.
• Expert Cisco router and switch configuration and troubleshooting.
• Expertise with VSS and HSRP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Expertise with MACsec and layer 2 tunneling.
• Expert knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 protocols (spanning tree, IPv4, 802.1Q, EIGRP).
• Expert knowledge of Cisco software licensing and IOS upgrades.
• Strong IP addressing and subnetting skills.
• Proficiency with Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Experience deploying and managing wireless environments.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
• Effective communication and presentation skills for engineering and management audiences.
• Active Raytheon security clearance.

Preferred Skills:

• CCNP or higher certification.
