Position Title: Mail Production Operator / Inserting Operator

Locations: Getzville, NY 14068
Anticipated Start Date: 7/28
Expected Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Contract with possible extension
Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, Overtime available but not required
Pay Rate $18/hr. on W2
Need: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; minimum 1 year experience operating mechanical inserting equipment in a high-volume mail production environment, with familiarity of USPS postal regulations preferred.
Interview Process: 1- Phone Screen , 2 - Video Interview.


Job Description:
Job Title: Mail Production Operator / Inserter Operator
Position Purpose:
Responsible for operating and maintaining inserting equipment to efficiently produce mail pieces and prepare bulk mailings in compliance with USPS regulations. This role involves ensuring quality control throughout production, making necessary machine adjustments, and performing routine maintenance to maximize uptime and productivity.
Role will work with many different health plans including Fedelis, ICS, more.
Inserting output into envelopes using mail production equipment, with a focus on maintaining quality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • First Day: Orientation includes a tour of the operations and facility, introductory training through Centene University, and shadowing experienced operators to observe standard procedures and best practices.
Our team is small but highly collaborative, with a friendly and down-to-earth atmosphere. The dress code is casual and comfortable, and everyone is always willing to help. Due to the high noise level in the work environment, most team members wear earbuds or headphones while on the floor.
Key Hiring Criteria
Must-Haves:
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or retail environments.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • 1+ years of experience in mail production.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating mechanical inserting equipment in a high-volume mail production environment.
  • Familiarity with USPS postal regulations preferred.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor automated inserting systems to produce mail pieces at optimal speed and accuracy.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain inserting machines, including feeders, folders, cutters, and bindery equipment.
  • Insert printed materials-such as letters, documents, and booklets-into envelopes with precision and consistency.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance according to established schedules to ensure reliable operation.
  • Continuously inspect mail pieces during production to ensure quality standards are met; make real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all postal regulations and company procedures when preparing mail for the Post Office.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds; stand and perform tasks for extended periods.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and resolve operational issues.


Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand for long durations.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery and tools.


Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced production floor setting with exposure to typical mailroom equipment, noise, and movement.
  • May require flexibility in scheduling, including overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
