BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer for an opportunity in Jersey City, NJ! Position Title: Data Engineer Location: Jersey City, NJAnticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 12 months with potential to long term Job Type: [Contract >%3D40 HRS WEEKLY], [ON-SITE] Pay Range: [$60/hr] - [$68/hr] Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Requirements:
- The role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet enterprise business analysis and reporting needs.
- Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and outside sources; as well as ensure data is verified and quality is checked.
- Design and implement ETL processes and data architecture to ensure proper functioning of analytics platform, as well as clients or third-partys reporting environments and dashboard.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization.
- Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis.
- Perform the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models.
- Ensure all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system.
- Collaborate with other development teams to manage interdependency, set up test cases, debug and maintain data quality.
- Ensure software stability via documentation, code reviews, and testing
Required Skills:
- In-Depth knowledge of database concepts, data architecture, and hands-on experience in Oracle.
- Advanced PL/SQL skills, strong experience in writing/optimizing advanced SQL queries in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
- Hands-on Unix Shell Scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica 10 or above and Python is a plus.
- Prior experience with Autosys (Scheduling Tool) - Not required, Good to have.
- Previous experience with at least 1 mission critical full software development DW/BI development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment and work with both technical and business personnel.
- A team-player with a demonstrated ability to get things done and make things happen.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience across all stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and well versed with SDLC tools like JIRA, Bit Bucket, Ansible, Jenkins - Good to have.
- Knowledge/Hands-on experience in Tableau, Alteryx or any other BI tool is a plus.
- Possess Bachelor's degree in an analytical related field, including information technology, science, and engineering discipline
- 4+ years of experience in technology/software development and delivery with focus on Databases and Data Warehouses domain.
- Prior Experience in the Financial Industry.
