Job Description
We are seeking a Bars Changeover Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in lean manufacturing, changeover reduction, and cleaning optimization within food manufacturing and a proven ability to decrease changeover time while maintaining effectiveness, safety, and product quality.
Responsibilities:
Own changeover reduction for the Chewy Bars platform using process mapping, value stream mapping, 5 Whys, and fishbone analysis.
Identify longest-lead tasks and develop standards to streamline and sequence changeover work.
Partner with team leads to allocate labor and resources efficiently and establish pre-changeover preparation strategies.
Coach floor teams to manage changeovers like production with scheduling, resource allocation, issue management, and urgency.
Collaborate with FSQ to define risk rankings, rationale for cleaning steps, and minimum clean requirements to reduce overcleaning.
Create or revise standard task flows to increase speed without sacrificing safety or effectiveness.
Assess pain points, recommend process, equipment, or tool changes, and evaluate capital opportunities with Engineering.
Design and execute experiments during changeovers, define success criteria, and implement validated process changes.
Benchmark internal and external best practices, including analogous cleaning methods, to improve speed, safety, and effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Engineering/Technical preferred) and 5+ years of related manufacturing experience, or HS Diploma and 10+ years of related manufacturing experience.
Working knowledge of manufacturing data systems for asset and storeroom management, quality tracking, ERP, and safety and environment management (e.g., MAXIMO, MQIS, INSQL, GSTEMS).
Demonstrated application of foundational systems and ability to drive system utilization.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coach and standardize processes for continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
Lean or Continuous Improvement training and certification.
Experience in food manufacturing sanitation, changeover optimization, or FSQ collaboration.

We are seeking a Bars Changeover Specialist (Lean Manufacturing Changeover Specialist) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in lean changeover reduction, process mapping, and cross-functional partnership and a proven ability to decrease changeover time while maintaining effectiveness and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Own changeover reduction for the Chewy Bars platform by identifying opportunities to improve current practices.
- Identify longest lead items and develop best-practice clearing standards.
- Develop and document process standards and pre-changeover preparation strategies.
- Partner with team leads to allocate resources efficiently and schedule changeovers like production.
- Teach and coach teams on disciplined changeover execution with urgency and issue management.
- Work with FSQ to develop risk rankings and clarify reasons to clean each item; eliminate overcleaning where feasible.
- Create or revise standard task flows to enhance speed without sacrificing effectiveness or safety.
- Apply a learning mindset using tools such as process mapping, value stream mapping, 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams to reduce changeover percentage.
- Identify pain points, assess cleaning needs, and develop easier methods through equipment, process, or tooling changes.
- Investigate and present capital opportunities to engineering and implement approved changes.
- Design and execute responsible experiments during changeovers; align on success criteria and implement process updates.
- Benchmark external best practices across sites and industries to improve safety, speed, and effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Engineering or Technical preferred, with 5+ years of related manufacturing experience; or HS Diploma with 10+ years of related manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing data systems for asset and storeroom management, quality tracking, ERP, and safety and environmental management (e.g., MAXIMO, MQIS, INSQL, GSTEMS).
- Demonstrated capability with foundational systems and driving system utilization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to coach, apply standards, and drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
- Formal Lean or Continuous Improvement training.
