Daily Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch, no OT)
Field-Worker / Member-Facing Role: Yes
Bilingual Preferred: Spanish
Position PurposeServe as an advocate for Members and a liaison between the Health Plan and Provider(s) to ensure timely access to appropriate care. Establish a visible presence in the community, support Member education, and help identify and resolve systemic barriers that impact Members' ability to receive healthcare services. Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and respond to Member complaints and grievances; identify access barriers and drive resolution per grievance procedures.
- Investigate and resolve cultural sensitivity and access-related issues raised by Members, providers, advocacy groups, State staff, and internal teams.
- Participate in local community events and organizations to understand Member needs and update educational materials as necessary.
- Serve as a primary contact for Member advocacy groups, community agencies, and State entities.
- Promote Member education and support Members in navigating available health plan resources.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA guidelines.
- Support Member Walk-In Office operations during scheduled in-office weeks.
- Assist with daily tasks including PCP assignments, balance billing issues, and provider disenrollment/panel change requests.
- Provide virtual support to the in-office Member Advocate team when working remotely.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare environment
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or Marketplace healthcare programs
- Bilingual - Spanish
Work Environment & Schedule
- Hybrid role with four weeks of mandatory in-office training.
- After training, schedule rotates to one week in-office every five weeks (non-negotiable).
- Walk-In Office is secure with badge-only access and partitioned workspace for safety.
- Team communicates daily via Teams Chat to coordinate tasks and maintain turnaround times.
- 40-hour work week with paid breaks and no overtime.
- Lives within a drivable distance to Indianapolis
- 3+ years healthcare customer service experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Spanish bilingual
- Medicaid/Medicare exposure
- Residing outside the Indianapolis drivable area
- Accuracy & turnaround time
- Communication quality
- Member satisfaction and issue resolution
- Reliability in hybrid/in-office scheduling
