Data Scientist VBCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist V for a Remote opportunity at New Jersey, NJ Position Title: Data Scientist VLocation: Remote Anticipated Start Date: 8/4/2025 Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 6+ Months Job Type: Contract - [FULL TIME (40 Hours a week)]Pay Range: $90.72/hr-$100.58/hrPlease note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Job Description:We are looking for a highly experienced Data Scientist with over 10 years in the industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization, coupled with exceptional communication skills to effectively convey insights to diverse audiences.Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations. Apply advanced statistical and quantitative techniques to interpret data and extract deep insights.
- Goal Setting & Metrics: Partner with stakeholders to define clear business objectives and key results (OKRs). Establish and monitor success metrics to track progress and impact over both short and long terms.
- Data Visualization: Create insightful visualizations that tell a clear story while enabling detailed exploration. Develop high-performance reports and interactive dashboards to support decision-making.
- Data Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that translate complex data into understandable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Use a variety of tools and techniques to communicate findings and recommend prioritized actions based on analytical evidence.
- Model Development: Design, build, and refine predictive and forecasting models using techniques such as regression, clustering, and classification. Evaluate model performance and derive actionable business insights from outputs.
- Research & Experimentation: Develop and test hypotheses to address key business questions. Design comprehensive research plans, selecting appropriate data collection methods and analytical tools to rigorously investigate problems and validate findings.
- 10+ years of industry experience applying quantitative methods to solve analytical challenges, including metric definition, performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and opportunity discovery through exploratory analysis.
- Extensive proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
- Proven expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and crafting impactful visualizations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex insights to a wide range of audiences.
