BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Legal Operations Manager for an opportunity in Minneapolis, MN!

Position Title: Legal Operations Manager

Location: Minneapolis, MN!

Anticipated Start Date: 3/3/2025.

Expected Duration: 6+ Months (There is possibility of extension)

Job Type: Contract, Remote

Salary Range: $74/hr - $84/hr.

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Legal Operations Project Lead to step in and lead an ongoing project focused on cost optimization with respect to external law firms. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Legal and Finance departments to develop strategic vendor negotiation playbooks, provide e-billing support, and track law firm savings. The role also involves generating automated reports, supporting the budget process, and modifying the TyMetrix T360 platform for new AP system modules.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Cost Optimization Project:

  • Develop and implement a playbook for vendor negotiations to optimize costs with external law firms.
  • Support attorney conversations by providing e-billing-specific guidance on alternative fee arrangements and discounts.
  • Partner with the Finance department to track and report on law firm savings, ensuring alignment with budget goals.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate business-focused, automated reports within the TyMetrix T360 environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Budgeting and Financial Support:
  • Support the accrual and annual budget process for the Legal department.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with organizational guidelines.

Platform Management and Enhancements:

  • Make modifications to the TyMetrix T360 platform to reflect new modules in the AP system.
  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality to support cost optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expert user of Wolters Kluwer TyMetrix T360 e-billing platform.
  • Extensive experience in Legal Operations, particularly in e-billing and law firm vendor management.
  • Proven track record in cost optimization and strategic vendor negotiations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in generating automated business reports.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Finance, and IT.

  • Strong client service mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Flexibility and reliability to adapt to changing project needs and timelines.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and budget management within a legal operations context.

Position description: Stepping in to lead an ongoing project by the Legal department focused on cost optimization with respect to external law firms.

Activities would include:

-Building out a playbook for vendor negotiations

-Supporting attorney conversations with e-billing specific support regarding alternative fee arrangements and discounts.

-Individual will partner with finance department on tracking and reporting law firm savings.

Additional project activities could include:

-Generating business-focused, automated reports within TyMetrix environment

-Supporting accrual and annual budget process

-Making modifications to Tymetrix platform setup to reflect new modules in AP system
