IT Security Associate
Position Title: IT Security Incident Troubleshooter (Contract to Hire - Remote)
Location: Remote
Anticipated Start Date: 04/21
Expected Duration: 12 months (Contract to Hire)
Pay Rate: $21.36 on W2
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To troubleshoot various security incidents across the organization. Assist with providing feedback and resolution to mitigate future security shortfalls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the detection, monitoring, and resolution of security incidents.
- Administer various IT Security tools and applications.
- Troubleshoot compatibility issues between security tools and business or productivity programs with IT groups and business units.
- Assist management in investigating IT or cybersecurity events and suggest resolutions.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve IT Security processes and procedures.
- Work closely with project managers to meet and complete project milestones accurately and on time.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization's quality program(s).
- Travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & LICENSING:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred, with a major in information systems or computer science.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including TCP/IP services or network experience.
- Experience with various operating systems, desktop productivity software, and network topologies preferred.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic knowledge of the security confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) Triad.
- Basic knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
- Ability to work with a broad range of security tools and new technologies.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Analytical and interpretive skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
