Research & Development, Support - Sample Processing
Laboratory Sample Processing Technician
Location: Onsite - Golden Valley, MN
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Two alternating shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Candidates must be available for both shifts.

Position Overview
This role is responsible for preparing and processing samples in a high-volume commercial laboratory. The position supports the first stage of the sample lifecycle, ensuring all preparation, labeling, and storage steps are completed accurately so lab testing results remain reliable. Steel toe shoes are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and prepare samples for laboratory testing using grinding mills and other comminution equipment such as blenders, grinders, and liquid nitrogen
- Label sample containers with unique identifiers and ensure accuracy
- Document preparation methods and sample details in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Maintain organization and proper storage of samples, including delivery and disposal as needed
- Prepare and log samples for shipment to third-party laboratories
- Support both sample processing and dishroom operations
- Clean and maintain laboratory glassware to support testing needs
- Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain efficient lab operations
- Follow all safety and quality standards including PPE, GMP, OSHA, and ISO requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2 years of laboratory experience and/or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of laboratory or food testing environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to learn and ask questions when needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for 5 to 6 hours per day
- Ability to perform tasks while wearing required PPE including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, lab coat, face shields, hearing protection, and cryogenic gloves
