Quality Assurance Engineer

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer for an opportunity in Minneapolis, MN!

Position Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Minneapolis, MN!

Anticipated Start Date: 3/17/2025.

Expected Duration: 6+ Months (There is possibility of extension)

Job Type: Contract, Remote

Salary Range: $47/hr - $57/hr.

Job Description: A global industry leader is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our QE Ops project on a contract basis through August 31, 2025. This role is fully remote, though local candidates are preferred (please include your location on your resume). You will play a key role in upholding and continuously improving IT Quality Assurance and Testing/Engineering standards, working as an integral member of our product team.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Uphold and continuously improve IT Quality Assurance and Testing/Engineering standards and processes.
  • Test Automation: Write and execute automated test scripts as an embedded team member, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews of test automation code, maintaining best practices and coding standards.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Report QA automation metrics and testing statuses to the project team, ensuring transparency and timely communication.
  • Issue Management: Identify, document, and act on issues found during automated testing; coordinate and escalate issues as needed.
  • Deployment Verification: Assist in verifying the deployment of applications and customer deliverables to ensure seamless releases.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with QA Analysts, QA Supervisors, and Senior Quality Assurance Engineers to prioritize tasks and proliferate quality engineering practices across the team.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with other team members to test business applications, online applications, document processing capabilities, and reporting deliverables.
  • Flexibility: Be willing to perform manual QA tasks if required, adhering to established testing practices and processes.
  • Proactive Approach: Exhibit a go-getter mindset, continuously seeking opportunities for process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Background:

  • Hands-on experience with automated testing, preferably 3-5 years using a development framework.
  • Strong coding or software development background in .NET, Selenium, Java, or a similar language.
  • Solid understanding of automated test frameworks, including Selenium WebDriver and best practices.
  • Experience with Mobile Automation using Appium and understanding of API Testing.
  • Familiarity with Angular applications.
  • Exposure to CI/CD and deployment processes, with a clear understanding of the SDLC and various types of testing (functional, system, integration, etc.).
  • Analytical and Communication Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to IT and non-IT audiences.
  • Collaboration:
  • Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, including conducting code reviews and prioritizing tasks.
  • Bonus:
  • Experience with Micro Front Ends is a plus.

* Proliferate quality engineering practices throughout the product/project team.

* Collaborate with Senior Quality Assurance Analysts or Senior Quality Assurance Engineers to execute tests of business applications, online applications, document processing capability, and reporting deliverables.

* Willingness to perform QA role if necessary

* Adhere to testing practices and processes set in place.

Requirements:

* Worked with Angular applications

* Test Automation or software development/coding background in .NET, Selenium, Java, or similar coding language.

* Understanding of automated test frameworks.

* Understanding of Selenium WebDriver and Selenium best practices.

* Experienced in Mobile Automation using Appium

* Understanding of API Testing.

* Exposure and understanding of CI/CD and deployment processes

* Understanding and working knowledge of the different types of testing (functional, system, integration, etc.).

* Understanding of the SDLC.

* Three to Five years of experience in Automated Testing using a development framework.

* Experience with Micro Front Ends would be a bonus
