BCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Ordinance Equipment Mechanic in Indianapolis, IN 46219
Position Title: Ordinance Equipment Mechanic (OEM)
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46219
Shift Timing: Mon Friday 40.00 Hours Per Week
Anticipated start date: 1-2 Weeks
Duration: Long Term Contract
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $24.94 on W2
Duties and Responsibilities:
Structural Duties may include, but are not limited to- light machining, sheet metal work, drilling, riveting and airframe repairs.
1st shift %3D "flexible start" %3D 6am-8am arrive time and work 8 hour days.
General Summary: Performs the following duties, and other related activities as assigned. Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements.
May perform as a member of a functional and/or cross- functional team.
Duties include assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, screen, repair, adjustment, test and/or verification of complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.
Typical systems include avionics, missiles, weapons controls, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers and associated equipment. Electrical duties may include, but are not limited to, removal and installation of components, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console type assemblies.
Mechanical duties include, but are not limited to, removal, installation, and adjustment of mechanical parts to precise tolerances.
Structural duties may include, but are not limited to, light machining, sheet-metal work, drilling, riveting, and airframe repairs.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School degree or GED equivalent.
JOB LOCATION: 100% Onsite
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must be able to perform duties using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment. May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items to assist authorized formal inspection and/or test personnel in determining product validation or assist other related job classifications when directed.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED.
Must be able to read, interpret and analyze engineering drawings, production planning and other technical documents, as well as possess extensive knowledge of the varied and complex electronic, electromechanical and/or optical equipment/system(s) involved.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires bending, reaching and lifting of objects within Vertex EHS guidelines.
Skill:
Set and experience with performing mechanically inclined and disassembly work a high priority. Mechanical aptitude is a must. Automotive, aircraft, biomedical, or racing industry are all industry areas that align with the required experience. Submitted candidates will be required to drill, bolt, cut metal, splice wires, and vehicle modification.
