Senior Accountant 1254
The Producer ag accountant role is a highly visible role where we deal with multiple parties within Agris, SAP, and Agrax. Within these systems, this role provides reporting and metrics around specific AR/AP balances between the systems. With CMIS being phased out and the main system becoming Agris going forward one person is needed to take over the duties around the process, and work through any process gaps that may arise.
The Producer Ag accountant contractor position we are requesting will first and foremost provide a stable link that every party can reach out to as the subject matter expert.
The duties include:
- Research into the AR items to eventually clear up all CMIS balances, research into the new Agris AR balances to ensure that the vendor accounts are current, and open item management within the AR subledger to clear up outstanding items.
- Researching into the AP balances to make sure that we are current, clearing of AP transactions within the AP subledger, and researching items that do not have an offsetting amount to apply. The AP and AR balances need to be compared with each other to ensure that there is a match on both sides and that items are similarly aged.
- Monitoring, reporting, and communicating progress reports over the producer ag venture. This includes providing an Aging of AP and AR to management, and progress updates on clearing open balances. This also includes challenges faced with the program and proposed solutions to those problems. The analysis provided will help the stakeholders better understand where we are sitting on the Producer Ag venture.
- Develop and update standard work instructions to changing process. With the phasing out of CMIS, and the changing of how accounts are being used, many SWIs are no longer current. These need to be updated to document the updated processes, as well as bring parts of the process together that we are taking over.
- Preparation and review of reconciliations are needed as well. The role also necessitates reconciliations to be prepared within blackline. There are currently 12 blackline reconciliations associated with the role, which need to be prepared monthly. The reconciliation all ties together and match up each of the systems within a material amount. The reconciliations also bring about accruals to ensure that the amount of money applied towards AR matches AP cleared. This accrual is done monthly to match up these two items. The contractor coming into the role should be prepared to help with audit requests and answer any questions that may come up around differences noted.
- Develop and/or assist in the development of special projects which contribute to continuous improvement and the evolution of the AG Retail space. Continually monitoring these projects through reporting and analysis of the effectiveness of change. Presenting on the success and items learned to leadership.
