Enterprise Agile Coach

BCforward is actively seeking to hire a talented Enterprise Agile Coach to join our internal team full-time here in Indianapolis, IN!
The Enterprise Agile Coach performs agile coaching at Portfolio, Program, and Team levels across both the business and IT. The Enterprise Agile Coach will use strong consulting and facilitation skills to drive various components of the value stream in their adoption of agile practices. The Coach will assist with transformations for BCforward teams located at client sites in Indianapolis and other parts of the world.

Additional responsibilities of the Agile Coach include:

• Provide coaching to the business roles of Product Management & Product Ownership

• Coach and partner with Product Owners on technical teams with backlog creating and refinement to ensure vision, roadmap and personas are well-defined and understood

• Establish and implement metrics to optimize team delivery and measure business agility in terms of predictability, reliability and adaptability

• Perform ongoing assessment of team and program agile maturity

• Work with agile PMO leadership to design and promote agile transformation

• Support team level agile coaches on sprint ceremony improvement tactics

• Able to proactively identify risks, and drive action to mitigate and resolve issue

• Familiarity with various ALM, specifically the Atlassian Suite

• Support an enterprise Agile COE with consistent training and coaching available to BCforward

• Facilitate positive change by providing advice and input on technical direction, tools and processes

• Potentially serve as Scrum Master or Coach for individual project teams

• Potentially serve as Release Train Engineer for Programs, facilitating PI training

• Acts as change agent and demonstrates to the teams how the Agile processes and systems work

• Guide and mentor multiple teams in the consistent practice of Agile concepts, including roles, ceremonies, processes, compliance, and tool usage within our client's Agile delivery context

• Improves application of Agile principles through workshops and training classes

• Participate in both the internal and external Agile community to stay abreast of challenges, leading practices, and emerging trends

• Continue to improve knowledge of Agile activities as well as in industry


Required Skills:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with IT focus degree

• MBA preferred

• 5 years of enterprise project management experience in broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development and/or building enterprise applications and/or data warehouse planning and development; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

• 3+ years of experience in an agile capacity such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, etc

• Experience in coaching and mentoring at Team, Program, and Portfolio levels preferred

• Experience in working with distributed teams and a demonstrated ability to understand and adapt to different cultures

• Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, communicating and influencing effectively at all levels of an organization required

• Deep understanding of SAFe and Agile with hands-on experience in Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and/or eXtreme Programing

• Experience in leading or developing solutions for change initiatives

• Scrum Master Certification, Agile Coach Certification or SAFe Agilist

• Availability for some domestic and international travel

Preferred Skills:

• PMI-ACP certification

• SAFe SPC4 Certification
