The ideal candidate will have experience with Cabling, Pulling cables, Wiring and Low-voltage.


Job Requirements

Job title: Install Tech ( Apprentice)

Duration: Full-time

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan) 100% Travel 

Working hours/weeks: You will be working for 3 weeks in a month and 1 week will be the rest. You get paid for this 1 week rest as well.

Job description:

BCforward is seeking an Install Tech who will work with a team to support installation projects for clients throughout the United States, primarily in the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan – other states may be included at future date). The position works in collaboration with a team dedicated to installing and upgrading products within corrections facilities.  This Apprentice-level role will work under the direction of a Lead Low Voltage Technician and client project managers as directed. 

Ideal candidates will have strong technical aptitude, good communication skills, and fast trouble-shooting capabilities in order to succeed in this role.

Qualified candidates must be able to pass Criminal History Background Check & drug screen. Candidates must have ability and willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.


Responsibilities include:

Installing infrastructure and cabling to support phones, stations, kiosks, tablets, and other client products and equipment.

Identify areas of concern and coordinate with team to execute prompt resolution and/or initiate escalations to resolve the issue.

Work collaboratively with the Program Manager, Installation Supervisor, other team members and other departments to address client needs within scope of responsibility.

Assist with troubleshooting connection issues and have the ability to make repairs.

Inspect wiring and connections to ensure that they meet applicable codes and safety standards.

Physical labor requirements include climbing a ladder, handling equipment, and lifting items up-to and over 50 pounds.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and team members to deliver quality results.

Provide clients with exceptional service.

Perform other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Basic construction skills with 1+ years of experience in construction or electrical

Previous low voltage experience

Telephony experience is a plus, including implementing conduits and pulling wire

Basic knowledge of using standard hand-tools

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines


Basic computer skills, MS Office suite a plus

Strong communication skills

Required license or certification:

Valid Driver's License and a good driving record. Position will require travel to-and-from project sites with the requirement to drive a vehicle/truck with a trailer.
