This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on helping local farmers, ranchers, and producers succeed through customized agronomic solutions, products, and services. You'll work directly with customers, providing on-farm recommendations and driving meaningful results across the territory.Key Responsibilities
- Execute sales plans to meet goals and improve profitability through agronomic solutions and consulting
- Evaluate current customer programs and build strategic marketing and sales plans
- Deliver on-farm presentations for crop protection, nutrients, seed, and related services
- Cross-sell additional products and services to increase customer wallet share
- Develop long-term customer and supplier relationships that drive repeat business
- Prepare and negotiate contracts, bids, and proposals
- Provide product and solution training to customers and less experienced staff
- Collaborate across teams (marketing, operations, credit, distribution) to enhance service and sales impact
- Mentor junior sales reps and lead projects when needed
- Uphold all safety policies and identify and report unsafe conditions
- Maintain CRM records and manage pipeline and activity reporting
What You Bring
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or operations
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
Preferred:
- Agronomy/agricultural sales experience
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or related field
- Strong mathematical aptitude for product formulations
- Proven success in outside sales with negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter who thrives in an independent field-based role
