BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Technical Writer 3 Professional Job for an opportunity at Remote

Position Title: Technical Writer 3

Location: Onsite - Remote

Anticipated Start Date: 9/25/2025

Expected Duration: 9 Months contract

Job Type: Contract and onsite

Pay Range: $40/hr. - $45/hr.

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Candidate Requirements

Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field.
Degrees or certifications required: No specific degree is required to be eligible for this role.
Disqualifiers: Candidates who are not native English speakers will not be eligible for the role.
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience with Figma, Markdown, Microsoft Office products, and preferably Git; a strong portfolio or writing samples are highly desirable.
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work, meeting deadlines, and feedback from the team.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

Minimum 3-4-year experience with Figma.
Minimum 3-4-year experience with Markdown.
Minimum 3-4-year experience with Microsoft Office products.

Summary:

The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Job Responsibilities:

Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
Maintain records and files of work and revisions
Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications
5-7 years' experience required
Experience in creating documentation for a technical audience
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Ability to read some programming code
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
