Position: Laboratory/Greenhouse Technician

Location: 7305 Northwest 62nd Avenue, Johnston, IA 50131

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Work type: Onsite

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM | Work 1-2 weekends or holidays every 3 months, with comp days

Pay Rate: $22/hr

Position Overview
The Controlled Environments Team seeks a motivated and responsible Greenhouse Technician to support research operations at our four-acre facility in Johnston, Iowa. In this role, you will contribute to the advancement of agricultural innovation by supporting daily greenhouse functions and research activities in a safe, professional, and compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Diligently tassel bag and shoot bag in corn pollination rooms
* Transfer large plants on carts to correct room locations and specific locations within a room
* Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks like discarding regulated material
* Assist with plant care tasks, such as cotton pruning

Qualifications
* High school diploma/GED required.
* Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant sciences, or a related field preferred.
* Two or more years of relevant experience preferred.
* Valid Drivers License required
* Good communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, attention to detail
* Works well independently and with minimal supervision but also works well in groups
* The ability to drive company vehicles, such as a tug
* Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn internal research software.
* Capability to perform repetitive tasks, stand or sit for extended periods, and lift at least 30 lbs.
* Comfort working in warm, humid greenhouse conditions with year-round pollen exposure.
