Job Description
We are seeking an MES Engineer to support the Collins Connected Assets project in a modern enterprise manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing systems integration, industrial networking, and machine connectivity, and a proven ability to connect intelligent machines to enterprise networks and deliver stable, secure data flows for manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Connect intelligent machines to Collins Manufacturing and Enterprise networks using standardized protocols and tools.
- Configure, integrate, and support manufacturing connectivity products including Dassault's Kepware, Cimco, and/or Ignition.
- Develop and maintain data interfaces, scripts, or logic using Python, Java, Ladder Logic, CNC program interactions, or similar technologies.
- Troubleshoot networking, connectivity, and data flow issues across shop-floor equipment and enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and IT teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Manufacturing experience connecting machines and systems in an enterprise environment (3-20 years).
- Hands-on expertise with Kepware, Cimco, and/or Ignition for industrial connectivity and data acquisition.
- Knowledge of enterprise networking and connection methods for manufacturing environments.
- General programming ability in Python, Java, Ladder Logic, CNC, or similar.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating shop-floor equipment with MES/SCADA and enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols and standards such as OPC UA/DA, Modbus, MTConnect, or similar.
Main Skill Requirements (with years):
- Manufacturing Experience: 3-20 years.
- Networking in a manufacturing environment: demonstrated hands-on experience.
- Programming Experience: foundational capability in Python, Java, Ladder Logic, CNC, or similar.
