Job Description
We are seeking a Case Management, Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume subrogation case handling, legal documentation, and stakeholder communication and a proven ability to negotiate settlements, ensure compliance, and drive recovery outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all processes comply with HIPAA and government security standards for PHI.
Manage a caseload of 700–1,000 subrogation cases, including notation, negotiation, and recovery activities.
Engage with attorneys, insurance adjusters, medical providers, court staff, recipients, family members, and clients via inbound and outbound calls.
Prepare and process documentation including correspondence, liens, claims, and related materials.
Meet departmental standards for customer service, settlement targets, and file management.
Conduct document reviews, perform legal research, and progress cases through workflows.
Verify beneficiary eligibility and update case documentation.
Confirm and validate third-party liability, probate details, and asset information through research.
Analyze data from multiple sources to determine case status and inform decisions.
Handle claim and lien disputes, collaborating with attorneys and stakeholders.
Perform periodic follow-ups on case status and payment progress.
Negotiate and settle claim and lien amounts within contractual guidelines.
Execute and file notarized documents with county offices as applicable.
Prioritize critical events and revenue-impacting deadlines while maintaining compliance.
Consistently meet productivity metrics for file handling and call volume.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
Professional communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
HS Diploma/GED required with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a legal office environment or in the insurance industry.
Knowledge of Medicaid and/or Medicare.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Work Arrangement & Requirements:
Primarily remote. Must reside in New York State and report to the Albany, NY office up to two times per month for meetings or training.
Ability to report to Albany, NY for mandatory in-office days or as needed for document processing.
Video cameras used during interviews and during the initial week of orientation.
Home broadband minimum 24 Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload. Higher speeds recommended.
Dress code: Business Casual. Client interface required. No overtime expected.
