Job Description
We are seeking a CE Facility Support Engineer - Mechanical 3 to join our data center operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical systems, preventative maintenance, and critical environment procedures and a proven ability to support safe, reliable, and compliant operation of facility equipment.
Two Resources will be working A-side night shift, Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday.
Two Resources will be working B-side night shift, Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday.
Responsibilities:
- Provide escort to third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site.
- Execute assigned tasks with supervision, including rounds and initial assessments of equipment performance.
- Monitor maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment with supervision.
- Perform visual or non-intrusive preventative maintenance.
- Conduct single CRAH preventative maintenance and AHU filter replacement.
- Perform eyewash, duress button, and humidifier preventative maintenance.
- Respond to VESDA alerts or supervisory low airflow notifications.
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with physical security policies.
- Execute SOPs for planned work activities in critical environments.
- Support fire alarm preventative maintenance and generator PMs (quarterly and annual).
- Work with rooftop unit HVAC systems and industrial chiller PM activities.
- Support fire pump and fire alarm preventative maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous data center experience.
- Experience with mechanical systems in high availability or critical infrastructure environments (e.g., data centers, refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing).
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g., automotive, electrical, controls, data center).
- Ability to work flexible schedules including 12-hour and rotating shifts.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with rooftop units, industrial chillers, and fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with SOPs and maintenance programs in mission-critical facilities.
Personal Protective Equipment (Supplier-Provided):
- Feet: Lace-up steel or composite toe boots covering the ankle with slip-resistant sole, meeting ASTM F2413-05.
- Head: Type 2, ANSI Z89 approved hard hat or helmet.
- Eyes: ANSI, CE, or EN approved safety glasses with side shields.
- Hands: Level 5 cut, abrasion, and impact-resistant gloves.
- High visibility vest.
- Ears: Multiple-use ear plugs.
