The Discovery Chemistry team in Client plays a critical role in the design & synthesis of novel organic compounds for crop protection, pest and vegetation management. We are seeking a contract worker to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to discovery and explore small molecule leads at our Indianapolis Global Business Center.

As a member of the Discovery Chemistry team, you will:

* Under minimal guidance, conduct multi-step synthesis (mg to g) leading to a final product in an organic chemistry lab setting.

* Collaborate with biologists, biochemists, and computational chemists to explore structure-activity relationships (SAR) and optimize lead compounds.

* Execute synthetic routes using modern methodologies and troubleshoot synthetic challenges.

* Document experimental procedures and results clearly and accurately.

* Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

* BS in Chemistry with 2+ or MS in Chemistry with 0+ years of relevant industrial or academic lab experience in organic synthesis.

* Proficiency in synthetic techniques, purification methods (e.g., chromatography, crystallization), and compound characterization (e.g., NMR, LCMS).

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced research setting.

* Ability to formulate a work plan and manage daily workflow.

* Working knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical hygiene practices.

* Demonstrated prior research experience (industry or academic) and examples of problem solving.

* Prior exposure to agricultural chemistry or discovery-phase research is highly desirable.

* Enthusiasm for innovation and a collaborative mindset.
