Job Description
We are seeking a Plant Worker to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will have experience in waste handling, decontamination, and barcode-based tracking and a proven ability to operate plant equipment safely, maintain cleanliness, and meet processing targets.
Responsibilities:
- Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
- Stage waste on the conveyor system or stack waste for scanning in the Biotrack system.
- Scan waste into the Biotrack system for accurate recordkeeping.
- Load autoclave bins or the incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
- Place reusable containers on the tub wash line for decontamination and operate the tub wash unit.
- Operate the tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs and verify proper operation.
- Inspect clean tubs, stack them, and load onto assigned vehicles for reuse.
- Decontaminate vehicle cargo areas, reload reusable tubs, and ensure no free liquid remains on floors.
- Notify the plant supervisor when vehicles are ready to move from the dock area.
- Maintain housekeeping standards by addressing spills, keeping floors dry, and removing debris.
- Assist in other plant operations as directed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and push or pull carts up to 500 pounds.
- Knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of Hazardous Materials and OSHA regulations.
- One year of related experience or training, or a combination, with effective communication and tact.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience operating autoclaves, incinerators, and wash systems.
- Familiarity with Biotrack or similar waste tracking systems.
