Job Description
We are seeking a Production Control Coordinator to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing production control and hands-on shop floor coordination using Excel and MS Office and a proven ability to meet daily production goals by expediting materials, maintaining accurate records, and preventing schedule delays.
Responsibilities:
- Expedite, route, and dispatch material and parts to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
- Review the production schedule daily to identify slow-moving WIP and report potential delays to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of finished orders and provide regular progress updates.
- Prepare production travelers, shipping orders, and other essential paperwork to sustain workflow.
- Monitor shop floor inventory to ensure materials are issued correctly and orders are closed upon completion.
- Log and communicate changes in material availability, substitutions, or schedule shifts to the production team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office for manual tracking and reporting.
- Manufacturing production environment experience; supply chain-only backgrounds will not align.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role (approximately 70 percent on the floor and 30 percent computer work).
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Experience level: 2+ years in a production or line operating environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience preparing travelers and shipping documentation in a low-automation setting.
Role Logistics:
- Reason for opening: workload support to free up current controller.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on site.
- Interview process: one on-site interview.
- Target start date: April 6.
- Assignment length: 12 months, extension likely; strictly contract.
- Overtime: permitted with pre-approval; occasional off-hours may be required.
