Job Description

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer 3 to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux systems development, operating system validation, and database-driven tooling and a proven ability to design, implement, and validate software supporting next-generation SoC platforms.

Top must have skills:

* Strong experience in Linux kernel development and device driver programming (C, C++) - 5+ yrs

* Deep understanding of operating system internals, hardware-software interaction, and low-level debugging - 5+ yrs

* Proficiency with kernel build systems, version control (git), and open-source workflows - 5+ yrs

Responsibilities:

• Support release and validation efforts for next-generation Cobalt SoC products using a Linux-based validation OS.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems that underpin validation workflows.
• Author and maintain logical and physical database descriptions and related metadata.
• Collaborate with a project team to coordinate database development and define project scope and limitations.
• Review project requests, estimate effort and cost, and deliver within agreed timelines.
• Troubleshoot systems and implement changes to resolve issues across the validation stack.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Recent hands-on Linux experience within the last 5 years, including systems-level development or validation.
• Proficiency with databases and database management systems, including schema design and documentation.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and practical experience with testing and delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across OS, tooling, and database layers.
• Effective verbal and written communication with collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with development technologies related to systems software and databases, such as SQL and a systems programming language.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.
• Experience: 5-7 years in relevant roles.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience contributing to Linux open source projects or upstreaming changes.
• Background in SoC validation environments or infrastructure for large-scale platform testing.
