Job Description
We are seeking a Music Publishing Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in operations, data management, ownership research, and process automation and a proven ability to improve data accuracy, streamline workflows, and support partners across the publishing ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement scalable automation solutions and process optimizations for publishing operations.
- Iterate on solutions, learn from outcomes, and drive continuous operational improvement.
- Research and verify publishing ownership data using internal systems and third-party tools to close gaps.
- Manage end-to-end publishing operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with partner requirements.
- Assist with data ingestion, validation, and quality assurance across publishing data systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve data discrepancies and operational issues.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvements.
- Maintain and improve process documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in operations, data management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets such as Google Sheets and Excel, with comfort handling large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
- University degree.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in music publishing operations.
- Familiarity with royalty data, metadata, and ownership or share information.
- Experience researching publishing ownership using third-party tools.
- Knowledge of CWR and DDEX data exchange processes and formats.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with process automation or scripting tools such as Python or SQL.
- Knowledge of music rights management tools.
