Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automated and manual testing of server-based n-tier systems, middle-tier messaging, and event-driven applications using core Java, Oracle, Web/JavaScript, Python, and messaging platforms such as MQ and RV, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality testing outcomes for client-facing trading, reporting, and analytics systems using Agile and Jira.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure software meets all functional and non-functional requirements through rigorous testing.
  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to test planning and, within Scrum teams, build test cases per story acceptance criteria each sprint.
  • Participate in test case reviews and implement updates as needed.
  • Design test data and ensure data compliance requirements across all test environments.
  • Assist in identifying and managing sensitive test data; build and use data to execute tests.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases and record accurate results.
  • Report issues and defects with clear background information for prompt review.
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce, detail, and document defects.
  • Use required testing tools and follow defined processes to complete testing work.
  • Trace tests to requirements for the given scope to ensure coverage and compliance.
  • Within Scrum teams, ensure stories are refined and contain clear acceptance criteria.
  • Implement and maintain the team's test framework and associated tooling.
  • Conduct test case reviews with subject matter experts and stakeholders to validate coverage.
  • Identify automation opportunities and develop automation for applicable test types.
  • Maintain and catalog test suites across smoke, integration, regression, and related suites.
  • Identify, document, and troubleshoot application-related issues.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement to enhance processes and quality outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience creating automated tests using tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, Playwright, UFT, or custom frameworks.
  • Strong UNIX proficiency, including shell-based log review and troubleshooting.
  • Background in front-office e-trading platform development teams with electronic trading application testing skills.
  • Experience testing large-scale order execution and trading platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate with global development teams and communicate defects clearly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional QA analytical skills with emphasis on test plan creation and execution; strong manual and automation skills.
  • 3+ years of QA testing experience on enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge or experience with BDD, Cucumber, and Selenium frameworks.
  • Knowledge or experience with Agile methods (XP, Scrum, Kanban) and continuous integration.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related analytical field.
  • Understanding of messaging middleware concepts and applications, including MQ and RV.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to engage business users.
  • Familiarity with modern development processes, build environments, and testing tools.
