Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Application / Platform Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and evolution of our application and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in full-stack engineering, microservices, containers and Kubernetes, cloud-native patterns, and data platform architecture and a proven ability to define technical roadmaps, guide modernization, and deliver scalable, secure, resilient platforms aligned to business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Define overarching architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices for application and platform development.
- Architect end-to-end solutions using React, Remix, Node.js, Python (FastAPI, Flask), GraphQL, and microservices.
- Design scalable containerized and cloud-native solutions using Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
- Establish architectural blueprints, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks.
- Guide engineering teams through complex solution decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Conduct deep architecture reviews of applications, microservices, APIs, and data flows and provide mentorship to teams.
- Architect, optimize, and evolve the internal application platform for UI frameworks, API gateways, microservice orchestration, observability/logging, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure platform performance, multi-tenancy, scalability, and reliability.
- Architect data integration solutions using PostgreSQL, RDBMS fundamentals, and distributed data tools such as Hadoop.
- Define APIs and GraphQL schemas to ensure consistency and maintainability with metadata, lineage, and quality integrated.
- Analyze existing applications to identify modernization opportunities and lead refactoring and cloud-native transformations.
- Define and evolve CI/CD standards using Git-based workflows and partner on automation with Ansible and shell scripting.
- Ensure platform security, performance tuning, reliability, and governance compliance.
- Translate business requirements into technology roadmaps and provide architectural input on major initiatives and technical debt reduction.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Full-stack proficiency: React, Remix, Node.js; Python with FastAPI and Flask.
- API design and delivery: GraphQL and REST with microservices architecture.
- Containers and orchestration: Docker, Podman, Kubernetes; Linux expertise.
- Data and DB architecture: PostgreSQL, RDBMS fundamentals, distributed data concepts (Hadoop).
- Large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native patterns, including event-driven design and service mesh familiarity.
- Engineering best practices across testing, coding standards, and security controls with strong documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- 10+ years in application development and platform engineering with 5+ years in an architect or principal role.
- Platform-as-a-product mindset and experience establishing architectural governance.
- Knowledge of cloud concepts across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proven track record leading architectural transformation across the SDLC and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
