Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong DB2 expertise to join our team. The DBA will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance of DB2 databases to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. This role involves working closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM DB2 databases in production, development, and test environments.
- Monitor database performance and proactively optimize queries, indexes, and system resources.
- Perform database backup and recovery operations, ensuring compliance with disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Implement and enforce database security, user access controls, and data protection standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve DB2-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, locking, and storage management.
- Support database design, schema changes, and object management to meet application requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and application performance.
- Automate routine tasks using scripts, tools, or scheduling systems.
- Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay current with DB2 patches, fixes, and industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Must be fluent in English with strong communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 10+ years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on IBM DB2 (LUW or z/OS, specify as required).
- Strong knowledge of DB2 internals, performance tuning, and database optimization.
- Hands-on experience with backup/recovery tools, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in SQL, scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell), and database automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., IBM Data Server Manager, OEM, or similar).
- Experience with database security, role management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
