Job Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer III to join our Enterprise Risk and Governance technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data movement, transformation, and Snowflake-based data products and a proven ability to design and enhance scalable data pipelines with quality and testing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems.
• Build and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines to deliver data products from source systems to Snowflake.
• Develop high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes as needed.
• Ensure systems meet business requirements and align with industry practices and governance standards.
• Integrate emerging data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
• Establish processes for data mining, modeling, production, quality, and testing.
• Create custom software components and analytics applications to support data consumption.
• Research and recommend new uses for existing data to improve insight and value.
• Employ a range of languages and tools to connect systems and automate workflows.
• Collaborate with data architects, IT, and data scientists to achieve project goals.
• Install and update disaster recovery procedures for data solutions.
• Continuously improve data reliability, quality, and observability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical degree or equivalent related work experience.
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB).
• Experience building data pipelines and transformations, preferably into Snowflake.
• Programming experience with back-end languages and frameworks (Java, J2EE, or similar).
• Knowledge of data mining practices, algorithms, and data modeling.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document solutions for cross-functional teams.
• History of proactive problem solving and willingness to challenge the status quo to ensure the right solution.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Snowflake performance tuning, data sharing, and governance.
• Background in Enterprise Risk and Governance data domains.
• Exposure to quality engineering for data, including testing frameworks and data validation.
• Prior work in collaborative, Agile environments.
