Position Title: Harvest Scale Operator

Locations: Grand Rapids, OH 43522
Anticipated Start Date: 10/06
Expected Duration: 14 Months
Job Type: Contract with possible extension
Schedule: Rotating 2-on/3-off/3-on/2-off schedule, Sunday-Saturday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
Pay Rate $18/hr, with shift premiums of $3/hr for 2nd shift and $2/hr for 3rd shift (if applicable).
Need: High school diploma or equivalent required; administrative experience and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, databases) preferred.

Work Schedule & Compensation:
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (hours may vary)
  • 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (hours may vary)
  • Flexibility required for occasional overtime and weekend hours.
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
  • Shift Premiums:
    • $3.00/hour for 2nd shift
    • $2.00/hour for 3rd shift
Job Title: Harvest Scale Operator

As a Harvest Scale Operator, you will be the key point of contact for both internal and external customers. Using established standard operating procedures (Work Instructions), you will accurately scale in/out trucks and maintain records to ensure growers and carriers are paid correctly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Welcome visitors and provide required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Scale and direct carriers (green corn, cobs, soybeans, discard, and/or soybean loads).
  • Generate and distribute scale tickets, seed load tickets, and other required documentation.
  • Accurately calculate and verify information on tickets and in computer systems.
  • Create and maintain records in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Manage and update information in global systems (Seed Pro, SharePoint).
  • Maintain an organized and orderly workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Corteva Supervisor.

Skills & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Previous administrative experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers; Microsoft Office and database experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative team player with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.

Equipment/Attire Requirements:
  • Closed-toe/closed-heel shoes.
  • Long pants (slacks or jeans).
  • Shirt with sleeves that fully cover the shoulders.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Repetitive motion with computer keyboard operation.

Additional Details:
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Transportation to and from the assignment location is the worker's responsibility.

    • Seatbelt policy: Seatbelts must be worn in all motor vehicles on Corteva property.
    • Electronic device policy: Mobile phones and portable electronic devices may only be used with hands-free technology while operating vehicles.
    • Work area policy: Mobile phones, iPods, MP3 players, and similar devices are prohibited in work areas during work hours.
    • Parking policy: Park only in marked and designated areas.
