BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Payment Engineer for an opportunity in NYC, NY (Hybrid).

Position Title: Payment Engineer

Location: NYC, NY (Hybrid)

Anticipated Start Date: 10/27/2025.

Expected Duration: 12+ Months Contract with Strong Possibility of Extension.

Job Type: [Contract (40 hours weekly)], [Hybrid]

Pay Range: $60/hr - $65/hr

Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
* Develop APIs and backend services supporting real-time payments, account validation, and fintech integration.
* Build smart routing, status tracking, and exception handling into orchestration flows.
* Implement scalable, event-driven microservices that support high transaction throughput.
* Leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity and code quality.
* Contribute to test automation, security validation, and monitoring infrastructure.

What We're Looking For
* 8-12 years in backend software engineering, ideally in banking or fintech.
* Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js).
* Understanding of payment protocols (e.g., RTP, ISO 20022) and banking workflows.
* Experience building secure, high-availability systems in cloud-native environments.
