Job Description

We are seeking a Database Engineer Contractor to join our team supporting a Deloitte project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data modeling, SQL, ETL development, and performance optimization and a proven ability to design, implement, and secure large-scale relational databases that enable accurate reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize database systems to support storage, retrieval, and analysis.
• Design and construct large relational databases aligned to project requirements.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes that integrate new systems with existing data warehouse structures.
• Refine database functionality and tuning to ensure efficient data retrieval and performance.
• Implement and enforce database security to protect integrity and confidentiality.
• Perform regular data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Primary skill: Data Modeler.
• Advanced SQL development and optimization for relational databases.
• ETL design and maintenance for data warehouse environments.
• Business analysis skills for translating requirements into data models and reporting solutions.
• Understanding of technical architecture and database security practices.
• Experience level: Advanced, 6-9 years in relevant roles.

Preferred Skills:

• Insurance domain experience, including data modeling for policy, claims, billing, and underwriting.
• Reporting and dashboard development experience.
