Job Description

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and CNC machining on mills, lathes, and grinders and a proven ability to produce precision components to blueprint specifications and tight tolerances.

Shift: Training on 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, then transition to 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM upon completion of training.

Responsibilities:

• Machine parts to specified dimensions, maintaining close tolerances and correlated dimensions with precision, concentricity, finish, and parallelism requirements.
• Select appropriate speeds and feeds based on material type and finish requirements.
• Set up and fixture work using shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks, and other devices to ensure alignment and prevent tool or part movement or breakage.
• Inspect in-process and finished parts with precision measuring instruments to verify features and conformance to blueprints and methods.
• Lift items up to approximately 40 pounds and work overtime and/or assigned shifts as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of machine shop experience operating mills, lathes, and related equipment.
• Basic knowledge of precision tools, machining methods, and cutting characteristics of metals.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions safely and accurately.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with manual and CNC operation on mills, lathes, grinders, and coordinate measuring machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Trade school technical certificate.
