Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Application Programmer to join our dynamic team supporting the Global Markets business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, object-oriented design, RESTful services, Angular, and SQL/Oracle and a proven ability to deliver scalable, high-quality software across the full development lifecycle for Independent Price Verification processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop object-oriented software in Python and on the proprietary Quartz platform with grid computing.
• Design and build data transfer tools to replicate data from NoSQL datastores to Oracle Exadata.
• Develop and maintain RESTful web services.
• Design the interface between the UI and REST services.
• Build a data-grid centric UI using the Angular framework.
• Participate fully in the software development lifecycle and Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders in the Global Markets CFO Group on the Granite Valuation Control project.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of overall technology experience in object-oriented development (e.g., Java, C++, C#).
• 3-5 years of hands-on Python development.
• 6-10 years designing and tuning SQL database tables and queries, preferably with Oracle/Exadata.
• Experience with REST API design and implementation.
• Experience with grid computing and high data volume systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders.
• Comfort working in Agile environments, including pair programming and daily stand-ups.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with C++ and/or Java in addition to Python.
• Experience with git, npm, and Angular 15.x or later.
• Test-driven development, functional testing, and continuous integration.
• Relevant banking, finance, or middle/back-office experience.
• Familiarity with the Bank of America Global Markets environment and Quartz platform.
