Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer to join the Enterprise Capital Management technology team supporting regulatory capital reporting under Basel rules. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, SQL, and UNIX scripting and a proven ability to deliver scalable, performant applications that enable accurate risk-weighted asset calculations and Basel capital ratios across Bank of America entities.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance applications for capital reporting and analytics.
• Implement data sourcing, business logic, and process flows for Basel metrics and ratios.
• Partner with cross-functional Technology teams to migrate to the strategic target architecture.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and reliability of data-intensive applications.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and follow SDLC best practices, including unit testing and code reviews.
• Support large-scale enterprise deployments and production stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
• 8+ years of Python development experience.
• 7+ years of SQL programming experience, preferably with Oracle Exadata.
• 5+ years of UNIX scripting and experience with unit test mock frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
• Expertise in performance profiling, tuning, and memory optimization for data-intensive systems.
• Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills with enterprise-scale implementations.
• 10+ years of applicable experience in software development.

Preferred Skills:

• 2+ years of Java development experience.
• Experience with Quartz (internal bank platform) or similar scheduling frameworks.
• Programming experience with Hadoop or big data distributed ecosystems.
• Knowledge of cloud or distributed computing.
• Background in capital calculations and Basel regulatory reporting.
• Degree from a highly regarded university.
